Joining an existing family

Option A — Email invitation (recommended)

Tap the link in the invitation email, sign in or create an account, and accept.

Option B — Family code

If a relative shared a family code with you:

1. During onboarding, choose Join a Family — or tap Use a family code instead if you already see pending email invites.
2. Enter the 9-character code (with or without the dash, e.g. `SMIT-K7X2P`).
3. Tap Find Family and confirm the family name shown.
4. Tap Request to Join.
5. Wait for the family admin to approve your request in Profile → Family Invites.

Already in the app? Go to Profile → Join Another Family and use the same code flow during onboarding, or ask for an email invite.

Option C — Search and request to join

1. After onboarding, choose Join a Family (or go to Profile → Join Another Family).
2. Search for the family by name.
3. Tap Request to Join on the family you want.
4. The family creator reviews the request in Profile → Family Invites → Join Requests and taps Approve or Deny.

Option D — Invited account creation

If you received an invite but do not have an account, the link walks you through Accept Invitation & Create Account in one flow.

Permissions when you join

New members receive default permissions: Record, Comment & Like, Add Notes, and Invite Others. A family admin can adjust these per person.
